NVSL Foundation

The Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan Foundation was created in 2004, funded with a gift of stock from Naugatuck Valley Financial Corporation and organized exclusively for charitable purposes.

In the comparatively short time since its establishment, The Foundation has given grants totaling more than $430,000 to support a variety of community organizations that enhance the quality of life in the Naugatuck River Valley.

In 2007, we received the Traurig Family Award for Philanthropy from the Connecticut Community Foundation in recognition of our volunteerism and financial support of more than 75 area community groups and non-profit organizations.

Over 90 different community organizations have been assisted through the Foundation since its inception, with the 90th organization receiving support in 2012 to coincide with the bank’s 90th year in existence. Click here to view a complete list of organizations that have received our support.

The Foundation Board of Directors meets on a quarterly basis. The 2013 meetings are scheduled for February 20, May 15, August 21 and November 20, 2013. All applications to be considered must be submitted one week prior to the meeting.
